Safety

Your safety matters. Follow these guidelines to protect yourself when connecting with others on Sugar Connections.

Blocking & Reporting Users

  • You can block or report any user from their profile page.
  • Blocking removes them from your Search results and prevents all further contact.
  • Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and may result in account suspension.
  • Blocked users are not notified that you blocked them.

Meeting Safely

  • Always meet in a public place for your first few dates.
  • Tell a trusted friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting.
  • Arrange your own transportation to and from the meeting location.
  • Keep your phone charged and have an exit plan ready.
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave.

Protecting Personal Information

  • Never share your home address, workplace, or financial details with someone you haven't met.
  • Keep conversations on the platform until you're comfortable sharing other contact methods.
  • Use a separate email address for dating if you prefer extra privacy.
  • Be cautious about sharing photos that reveal your exact location or daily routine.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • Requests for money or financial assistance before meeting in person.
  • Pressure to move communication off the platform immediately.
  • Refusal to video chat or meet in a public place.
  • Inconsistent stories or details that don't add up.
  • Overly aggressive, controlling, or boundary-pushing behavior.
